What we wove into this one

Out on the skiff or along the lake path, the glare off the water gets relentless by midday. We shaped this lightweight nylon hat with a broad edge to throw full shade across your neck and collar. When the afternoon breeze picks up, the chin cord keeps it anchored right where you need it.

Shade over the water

The broad circular edge cuts the direct glare from open water and bright dirt trails. You can snap the sides up to clear your shoulders or leave the brim down flat for full shade all around.

Crown with airflow

We built ventilation into the nylon crown so trapped heat can drift off your head while you hike or paddle. The cloth dries quickly if it catches river spray or rain along the way.

Drawstring and cord

A sliding toggle at the back adjusts the crown tension around your head. Under the chin, the long cord pulls snug so a sudden gust across the dock will not lift your hat away.

Packing and washing

The lightweight nylon rolls down small enough to tuck into a tackle box or daypack side pocket. When it gets dusty from the trail, wash it by hand in cold water and let it air dry.
