The rules of this house, in plain sentences

This page is short because the site is simple. We describe hats we make, we point at the shelf where you can buy them, and we take nothing from you on the way. Read it once and you know where you stand.

What this site is

A catalogue. Every page here exists to describe one of our hats, one of our shelves, or how to choose between them. There is no basket, no account and no field anywhere that asks you to type a card number.

Prices and stock are not ours to promise

The figures on this site are copied from our retail partner’s listings at the moment the site was built. They move, sometimes within a day, and nobody tells us when. The same is true of whether a colour is in stock. The price and the availability you see on their shelf are the real ones, and they are the ones that apply to your order.

Buying happens somewhere else

Tap a buy button and you leave. From that point you are in a contract with our retail partner under their terms, not ours: their payment, their delivery, their rules about sending things back. We are not a party to it and cannot act inside it, which is worth knowing before you write to us about an order.

Our words and our photographs

The text, the studio photographs and the layout of this site are ours. Read them, quote a line with a link back, print a page for yourself. Do not lift the lot into another shop, and do not use our name or mark to suggest we stand behind something we have never seen.

Where we might be wrong

Some of what you read here we copy from listing data: a care instruction, a fibre name, a measurement. We check it against the hat where we can and we leave out anything that contradicts itself, but a catalogue this size will hold a mistake or two. If a hat on your head disagrees with a line on our page, the hat is right. Tell us and we will fix the page.

Colour is the usual culprit. A screen makes cream look white and charcoal look black, and no photograph settles it.

Links that leave

Every buy button and every link to our partner’s shelf takes you off this site. What happens next runs under their terms and their privacy policy. We have no control over either and do not pretend otherwise.

If these rules change

We rewrite this page when the site changes, not on a schedule. Anything here applies from the moment it is published, and the version you can read is the version in force. These rules are read under the laws of the State of California.
