What we wove into this one

Bright water and open trails demand a brim that holds its own against midday glare. We cut this wide-brim bucket from lightweight nylon in a quiet forest green that belongs among trailside pines. Side mesh lets afternoon breezes move straight through, keeping your head cool as the day heats up.

Wide circular brim

The brim wraps all the way round to cast deep shade over your eyes and neck. You can leave it flat for full shade on the trail or turn up the sides when the breeze picks up along the shore.

Chin cord in the wind

Gusts off the lake will not lift this crown away. We added an adjustable chin cord with a toggle, so the hat stays settled on your head when you are rowing or walking open ridgelines.

Packable nylon weave

The nylon fabric rolls down small enough to tuck into a jacket pocket or the side sleeve of a pack. When you shake it loose at camp, the crown and brim bounce straight back into form.

Care by hand

Rinse it in cool sink water after dusty afternoons in the garden. Gently wash by hand, press the extra moisture out with a dry towel, and let it air dry flat on the porch.
