In our words
What we wove into this one
Frost on the windshield calls for something heavier than a single layer of yarn. We built this skull cap with a fine exterior knit and backed the entire inside with plush fleece. It pulls low over the ears and stays put in a stiff wind.
Fleece on the inside
The inner layer is soft fleece that rests smooth against the forehead without prickle or scratch. It stops cold drafts before they cut through the knit.
Close skull fit
We shaped this cap to sit close to the crown without excess fabric bunching at the top. It tucks neatly under a parka hood when the wind picks up.
Coverage over the ears
The lower edge pulls down far enough to cover the ears completely. Cold winds stay out while you walk the dog or scrape ice off the car.
Stretchy knit shell
A dense outer knit flexes easily over thick hair and snaps back into shape once you pull it off. It packs small into a coat pocket between errands.
