What we wove into this one
Morning walks get loud when the cold wind cuts through the stroller canopy. We knit this winter beanie from soft acrylic and lined the entire crown with warm fleece. The muted beige and soft pink yarn looks like strawberry milk on a frosty sandbox morning, while deep earflaps stay over cold ears through every sudden turn of the head.
Fleece lining
Soft acrylic yarn on the outside works with a plush fleece interior. The inner layer traps heat around busy heads without scratching, making chilly mornings in the stroller much calmer.
Deep earflaps
Little ears catch the wind first. We shaped the sides to drop low over the ears and stay there, helped along by elastic stretch that keeps the beanie in place while they run.
Gentle stretch
Toddlers move fast and pull at their winter gear. The flexible knit accommodates growing heads comfortably, holding close without leaving red marks across the forehead after a long afternoon outside.
Hand wash care
Winter play brings mud and playground slush. Fill a small basin with cool water, rinse gently by hand, and lay the knit flat to dry so the fleece stays plush and the shape holds.
